NATURE – TASTE - TRADITION
We start our countryside experience heading to the famous eco-system of Lake Agias. On our way there we’ll have a short stop.
Following we arrive to the lake. This lake hosts the largest variety of aquatic plants in Crete, but also hosts very important species of fauna, such as rare species of ferns and frogs. Here we will walk through the green surroundings of the lake and we will be briefed about the important role it serves for the town.
Our next stop is the local winery as the setting is a perfect backdrop to try these award-winning wines. We suggest the guided tour at the production facility where we will learn about the wine making process and visit bottling line, the cellar where the wines are kept and aged. Last but not least a wine tasting with all available wines accompanied by local treats.
Following we’ll make our stop to the path next to Valsamiotis stream in Vatolakkos village. The unique and really easy walk through nature sounds and green colours is about 1,5 kilometer. The photography enthusiasts will be more than excited to seize the wonderful opportunity for great pictures.
Our next stop is the Olive & Oil Museum which is housed in an 18th century olive oil factory. Here we will see the collection that consists farm tools, machinery and even furniture and various other objects from the next door manor of everyday domestic life, giving the visitor a good idea of the living conditions and habits of the people of those times. By the end of the small visit we will enjoy free coffee or refreshments.
On our way back - through the Orange Valley - we will make a pause to visit the very important Byzantine church of Ai Yannis Kyr-Yannis (formal name is Zoodohos Pigi) a unique church build on the tenth century that makes it the probably the olderst church on the island.
Following, we return back to our hotels full of nice pictures and memories of the Cretan countryside.

Excursion 2
ESCAPE TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SUNSET OF CRETE
The island of Crete is also known for the sunset that you can admire from various scenes. Cretan VIP Travel will take you to the one place with the most amazing sunset of Western Crete. The unmatched place where the sun meets the sea.
Our escape for the dreamy sunset starts in the afternoon. We head west and our first stop is a local awarded winery where we will enjoy a guided tour in all the areas of the winery (production, storage, bottling areas) and a visit to the cellar. Following we will enjoy the wine tasting at the wine museum and admire the breathtaking view on the veranda, overlooking the gulf of Kisamos.
A few kilometers away we'll reach the western town of the island, the only town with two names Kasteli or Kisamos. Here we will enjoy a short walk to meet the town.
Our escape continues through the small, picturesque villages and takes us to our last and main stop. Falassarna is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the most famous destinations of the whole island. Here we will admire the most wonderful, the best sunset of Western Crete. How could this not be the best, when being in such an amazing landscape and there is no obstacle between the beach and the horizon? Be prepared. Take your camera with you!

Later on we start our way back full of picturesque memories that will be in your mind until the next time you will travel back to our island.
